WEEK 2 Picks - Who Let the Dogs Out?

Who let the dogs out? Hopefully I did with 7 underdog bets for you today. Thanks to everyone who watched the show last week, the number of viewers we had was incredible and it just keeps getting bigger. Now to the picks, we’re channeling our inner Monica Gellar. https://youtu.be/O84RyVVj_wk?si=kfnYcCyVqhkEkPnH

Troy +16

Troy goes on the road to Manhattan, Kansas to take on the defending Big XII Champs Kansas State Wildcats. Kansas State has old rival Missouri next week so they maybe looking ahead a bit and Troy is to good of a ball club to over look. In addition, Kansas State has been known to slip up to quality Group of 5 schools at home, like last year when they lost to Tulane. 16 is too many points in my opinion so I think Troy covers that number on the road.

Tulane +7

Went against the Green Wave last week and they cooked us good. I’m backing them this week as they host the Ole Miss Rebels. The biggest home game for Tulane in forever and I think they come out ready to play and may even win the game outright.

Northwestern pk

When I wrote this game down for my picks on Thursday night, Northwestern was a 2 point underdog but this morning they are either favored by one or a pick’em. I’m still counting them as an underdog to keep up with my theme for the week. Either way take the Wildcats on the money line because even though they are terrible, UTEP is probably worse, and I just don’t see the Miners going into a Power 5 school’s house and robbing them blind. I like Northwestern to win.

Southern Miss +31

Southern Miss is not very good. Florida State might be the best team in the nation. Florida State is hosting Southern Miss and Vegas has the Seminoles favored by 31 points. That number was good to us last week as we took Indiana +31 against Ohio State and it was an easy cover. I doubt this will be an easy cover but 31 is a lot of points and Florida State has a short week since they played LSU on Sunday. Call me crazy but sometimes I like to live in the DANGER ZONE! Come on Golden Eagles.

Texas Tech +7 (might have to buy 1/2 point or 1 point depending on the book)

The Red Raiders lost to Wyoming last week? Correct. Oregon scored a billion points last week? Yes they did. And you’re taking Texas Tech +7 at home against Oregon? Si. Lubbock gets weird and I think this is a perfect bounce back spot for Joey McGuire and the Red Raiders. Heck they might of been overlooking Wyoming and looking ahead to Oregon because 4 coaches on staff at Tech came from Oregon and Tyler Shough (pronounced Shuck as in “aw shucks”) the Tech quarterback transferred from Oregon. If the Red Raiders somehow win this game then nobody will remember that Wyoming loss. I’m expecting Texas Tech to play well and bounce back and make it close.

Washington State +7 (might have to buy 1/2 point or 1 point depending on the book)

The Cougars beat the Badgers last year in Madison, Wisconsin. Both teams have gotten better but this year the game is at night in Pullman, Washington. Have you ever been to Pullman? You have to take like 5 connecting flights, a train, and a 2 hour bus ride just to get there. Travel is not easy and neither is being the road team in front of Cougar nation. Give me the Cougars to stay within the number.

Cal +7 (might have to buy 1/2 point or 1 point depending on the book)

Auburn has a new head coach in Hugh Freeze. Last time I checked it’s still 112 degrees outside. Well, that’s only in Texas. In Berkeley, California tomorrow the high is 74 degrees. That’s still a long way from freezing. Long road trip for the Tigers and the Cal Bears are well coached and play hard, especially on defense. I’ll take the home team getting points, what’s better than that?
