Week 7 - Video & Picks
Oregon +3 (@ Washington)
The Ducks are one of only 2 teams in the country that rank in the top 10 in both offense and defense (the other being Miami). I think Washington has the better offense and the better quarterback in Micheal Penix Jr. who leads the country in passing yards and touchdowns. But I think Oregon has the better overall team and definitely has the better defense. I think this is a close game but I think the Ducks find a way to get the W in Seattle.
Wake Forest +2 (@ Virginia Tech)
Wake Forest looked good last week in a close road loss at Clemson. Virginia Tech has had some bright spots but they have been very inconsistent. The Demon Deacons haven’t played a complete game this year, either their offense is clicking and defense can’t stop a nose bleed or like last week the defense is dominate and the offense can’t score. I think this is the week they put it all together and get their first conference win of the season.
Texas Tech -1.5 (home vs. Kansas State)
Red Raider starting quarterback Tyler Shouch went down and in came Brenhen Morton. I think this could actually be a good thing because their offense ran too much through Shouch having him run it 15 times game that eventually lead to his injury for the 3rd year in a row. Since Morton has been in, the Red Raiders are running the ball very effectively with their running backs and taking pressure off of their young quarterback. Kansas State has been terrible against the run, ranking 92nd in the country rush defense. I think this is a perfect spot for Tech to lean on the running game and get a big conference victory at home.
Arizona +7.5 (@ Washington State)
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Arizona has covered to two weeks in a row against Washington and then almost beating USC at home last week in triple overtime. Arizona might be the most underrated team in the country because their schedule has been so brutal. Washington State has a dynamic quarterback in Cam Ward but there is just something about this Wildcat team that I love, their ability to keep games close and cover! Need the Wildcats to stay hot for me three weeks in a row.
Notre Dame -2.5 (home vs. USC)
Is there a team more battle tested than the Fighting Irish over the last 4 weeks? Lost at home to Ohio State on a last second touchdown, beat Duke on the road on a last second touchdown, then walked into a buzz-saw last week against an undefeated Louisville team that took them to the wood-shed. Notre Dame is still a very good team just in the middle of a very tough schedule. Now they’re back home and face USC who has one of the worst defenses in all of college football. The only reason USC is still undefeated is because of their Hercules of a quarterback Caleb Williams who continues to bail this team out of close games week in and week out. Can he do it again? I don’t think so, Notre Dame is the best team USC has faced all season and I think the Irish are the more desperate team here at home and I think USC runs out of gas and luck this week as I think Notre Dame hands USC their first loss of the season.
