Last Week: 3-2 Season: 19-19 50%
Ohio State -4 (home v. Penn State)
I asked my mom what her bet of the week was she said Ohio State over Penn State because she thinks the Nittany Lions are overrated. I agree. James Franklin is 1-8 against the Buckeyes with the only win coming back in 2018 back in Pennsylvania. I think Ohio State is the better team and I think they win this game by at least a touchdown. If my mom is wrong on this one, I’ll never ask her again!
Tennessee +9 (at Alabama
The Vols defense is allowing only 4.2 yards per play which is 4th in the country. They are amazing against the pass ranking 11th in explosive passing plays allowed and equally stellar against the run only allowing 3.1 yards per carry. Alabama offense has been mostly average running the ball but can hit big plays through the air which plays into Tennessee’s strength on defense. The Vols offense relies on running back Jaylen Wright who is incredibly explosive averaging 7.1 yards per carry and has posted 26 runs over 10 yards on just 80 carries. Alabama has struggled with giving up big plays in the run game, ranking 107th in rushing explosiveness allowed. Upset? Idk maybe but I definitely like Tennessee to keep it within 9 points.
Missouri -7 (home v. South Carolina)
The Gamecocks just allowed Florida’s Graham Mertz to throw for 423 yards! Missouri quarterback Brady Cook is having a phenomenal year and his favorite receiver Luther Burden has been uncoverable, he already has 56 catches for 805 yards halfway through the season. I love the Tigers here at home to win by more than a touchdown.
South Carolina/Missouri Over 59 points
Missouri is 16th in pass yards per game. South Carolina is 133rd (dead last in FBS) in pass yards per game allowed. Missouri is going to score a lot of points. South Carolina is going to have to score to keep pace. I think Missouri scores 40+ and if South Carolina can get in the 20’s, this should be an easy cover.
TCU/Kansas State Over 59 points
I don’t believe in either one of these defenses. Both teams have a new quarterback so there is not a lot of film out there on either one but both looked good last week in their debuts. I see this being a old Big XII shootout like the old days. Come on points!
