Last Week: 3-1 Season: 27-32 46%

BYU +25 (home v. Oklahoma)

Oklahoma crushed West Virginia last week and BYU got crushed by Iowa State last week.  So naturally I’m taking BYU to keep it within 25 at home against the Sooners.  Why?  Who knows but that’s a big number for a conference game and the Cougars are at home and I’m hoping for a little bit of fight from them.

Iowa -3 (home v. Illinois)

Iowa’s best defensive player is out with an injury but I still like the Hawkeyes here at home.  This Iowa defense is legit and it’s tough to score on.  I think Iowa wins this game and I think Illinois struggles to get a touchdown in this one.

USC -5 (home v. UCLA)

This crosstown showdown has several coaching implications.  Chip Kelly’s seat is as hot as the sun and several rumors are flying around that he will be fired after the season.  On the other side, there are plenty of rumors that Lincoln Riley is unhappy about his situation in LA and might be looking for a way out after this season.  None the less, USC played well last week against a superior Oregon team and I think they have the better team and the better quarterback so I’ll ride with the Trojans to cover here.

Arizona State +24.5 (home v. Oregon)

Arizona State stinks and they are hosting a team destined for the college football playoffs.  But again that is a lot of points for a conference game to give the home team.  Oregon has a big one next week against their rival Oregon State and maybe they might be overlooking the Sun Devils?  One can hope.

Oregon State on the money line to win (home v. Washington)

Washington is undefeated and ranked 5th in the country, yet they are the underdogs to a 2-loss Beaver squad.  So what gives?  The fact that Oregon State is really good and both their losses are by only 3 points, that their quarterback has 12 touchdowns to 0 picks in his last 5 games, that a night game in Corvalis, Oregon is where undefeated season go to die, and that the Beavers end the season with Washington and Oregon and a chance to beat the two teams who ruined the Pac-12 conference.  Yep that’s what gives.  This is a prime spot to pick Oregon State to win and Vegas agrees by having them favored.

Iowa State +7.5 (home v. Texas)

Iowa State has won 3 or the last 4 games against Texas in Ames, Iowa.  It’s at night and only Texas second road game outside of the state of Texas this season.  The longhorns lost their starting running back for the season who has been their best offensive weapon the second half of the season.  Also throw in the fact that Texas is accustomed to getting a big lead and then hang on for dear life in the second half while their opponents mount a comeback only to come up short.  I think the Cyclones might win this game outright but I’ll gladly take the 7.5 points.
